Below is an e-mail message I tried to send through the George Foreman web site relay my experience with one of their products. The message came back as undelierable. I'll try one of their other web sites, but found the irony of getting this back yumerous.
My message:
In February 2008 I purchased a George Foreman GRP4 Series grill from Amazon.com. I have been absolutely thrilled with it. I've been using it almost daily, and sometimes more than once in a day.
In September, however, the non-stick surface started to deteriorate...quickly. I have never used anything other than the included spatula/cleaning tool and a soft sponge to clean the grill surfaces. At this point, both surfaces, especially the bottom one look several years old and just about everything I try to grill sticks horribly, regardless of how much non-stick spray, or even regular oil I use. I am sorely disappointed. My grill is literally ready for the trash bin after only 8 months of use.
In addition to the lack of quality of the non-stick surface, I'm wondering if the non-stick surface has actually come off into my food? Have I ingested goodness only knows what kind of chemicals because of the inferiority of the non-stick surface?
After visiting you web site, I finally found where to obtain spare parts for your grills. I was told there are no replacement grill plates for my model of grill. I guess it's back to the rubbish bin.
I don't expect you to take responsibility for the poor performance of your product. I expect you to accuse me of not properly care for the grill plates. Be that as it may, I had to let you know how poorly your product has performed so you may take steps to correct it in the future.
The cooking concept is brilliant, and being diabetic, it does some really wonderful things for me, but I would have hoped for a longer life span. Non stick cooking surfaces always seem to have a limited life, but I would have hoped for more than several months.
Not happy,
Rick
